When is it? Saturday, September 21, 2019
When should I sign up? Registration is not yet open for our 2019 event.
Where is it? Camp Sacajawea, 55 miles northwest of Des Moines. The address is 638 L Avenue in Boone.
How do I get there? Prefer written directions? Take Hwy 30 to Boone. Turn north onto Story Street (4-way stop). Turn west (left) onto Mamie Eisenhower and drive about 1 mile. Turn north (right) onto Marion Street (just after Lincoln Elementary on the right). After railroad tracks, turn west (left) onto E26. Stay on E26 – you will curve around, pass Waterworks, and then cross over the Des Moines River. After the river, continue on E26 for about 3 miles until you come to a wide left curve in the road. Take the right fork onto gravel (L Ave). In about ¾ of a mile, camp will be on the right. Parking will be on the left.
Will there be food? We will announce our food vendors closer to the race!

We have two different courses so participants of all ages and skill levels can join in the fun! Here's a brief explanation of each and you can find more info on The Course page.
The Family Course is approximately three miles over 15 obstacles guaranteed to get you muddy. Want to test your family's or friend's teamwork skills? This is the course for you.
The Mini Course is perfect for the little ones who want to get in on the fun. This course is much shorter (approximately one mile), but is just as long on fun (and mud)! Note: there is an option for one free Adult Walk-A-Long with your Mini Course registration.
Cost & age info for each race
The Family Course

The Mini Course
$15/child for Girl Scout Members
Ages 4 to 10

How early do I need to arrive the day of the event?
Plan to arrive an hour ahead of your heat time to allow plenty of time for parking and registration.
There will be outdoor overhead showers along the fence of the pool at camp, as well as a fire truck available to hose people off. Participants must use these outdoor facilities to wash as much mud as possible off before entering the Shower House to cut down on the mud entering the building. Please note: the Shower House is only available for female race participants.
Will there be showers available?
Will the race be timed?
No. Participants are encouraged to bring a stopwatch if they want to track their time.
Anyone who wants to be on either course must register and complete the necessary waiver, including adults who want to walk along with their children on the mini course. Due to size restrictions, adult walk-a-longs cannot use the mini course obstacles, but may walk alongside their child. For the family course, there will be a designated spectator zone to watch and take photos during the race.
Can I walk along with my child running the race?
Water will be provided on the course.
Will water be available on the course?
Race participants will receive a t-shirt and refreshments after the race! Note: Adult Walk-A-Longs on the Mini Course will not receive a free t-shirt but will have the option to purchase a t-shirt during their registration.
